Kelsi Arnold, San Jose-based indie folk artist was seriously
considering
law school, but inspired by the Zapatista rebellion for indigenous rights
in Southern Mexico, resolved to sell everything she owned and traveled
to Chiapas as a human rights observer. What occurred there was nothing
short of a life-altering experience. "I realized how delusional the American
value of "stuff equals happiness" is, and witnessed how simple true
happiness can be." Thus, she changed her tune about law school and
returned to the States to record her self-released debut album-
Mexican Dalian Landscape. Since its release in 2001, Kelsi has graced the
stages of Bay Area coffee houses, sharing her jazzy, acoustic,
thought-provoking music, her unique sense of timing and refreshing perspective. |
